Hi Daniel Murray, I want to help you with your question, but I need more information from you. Can you please add details in the comment box?
I use Mitchells. or go to gm we site and

A crankshaft driven gerotor oil pump with internal pressure-relief valve is mounted to the front of the engine block
thar she be....
You have 2 of those and also 2 downstream. You have two banks of cylinders and each one has an upstream o2 sensor and it is located in the exhaust manifold for each bank. Your scan tool should say Bank 1 or Bank 2.
The downstream sensors are after the catalytic converter.
What are the symptoms of a bad upstream O2 sensor?
Sensor 1
Sensor 1 is the upstream oxygen sensor. It is the sensor that measures the oxygen content in the exhaust, providing an input to the computer, which determines how to adjust the air/fuel ratio. Sensor 1 is the sensor closest to the engine. Sensor 2 is the downstream oxygen sensor.

Before you do any of the expensive things disconnect and reconnect the wiring to the seat I had the same exact problem with my 2009 Chevy Impala and was ready to take it to the dealer when I disconnected the power cables to it and reconnected them I found that one of the Harnesses was loose and the problem was solved

I had a similar problem recently with my Epica. During extremely cold weather I tried to use the windscreen washers which were frozen. This blew a fuse within the interior fuse box which controls the wipers, indicators etc. This also activated the flashing red security light on the display. The vehicle was still running but when I truned off the engine it refused to start again. Required to change the fuse (which from recollection is the 3rd down on the right - 10amp) before it would work again. Eventually blew again so replaced it with a 15amp fuse and been working fine ever since....
If back seats fold down like my 2003 Impala, you should be able to access trunk through back seat. There is an emergency release in the trunk to open trunk lid
On left hand side of the steering wheel you have a manual light switch that controls the dash lights for dim and brighter by turning the switch right or left, or you will have a wheel like switch next to it which could be the control that goes up to brighten and down to dim. Either type is a rheostat type switch, to lower the lights it decreases the current to brighten the lights the current is increased. if the contacts are worn or dirty it could interfere with the current control. Sometimes you can just go from left to right or up and down and clean the contacts to work. Other wise it time to replace the switch
Great question.

DIY?
check fuse first
scan the PCM (the PCM has TCM) the TCM tranny brain and if TCM is not happy it tells you why
so all carsChev 1992+ must be scanned, first.
the 4t60E box is electronic shifted. scan it.
what is miles on car.? 100k,300Kwhat?
causes are vast, (ever see inside any A/T box)
the next test in the book is pump pressure test
PRNDL
The reason is that it is 18 years old, it is a Chevrolet (GM) and it is an Impala as described here.

'All of a sudden won't start' is terribly vague, turns over (cranks) but doesn't fire, just a click when you turn the key, or nothing at all?
Your best bet is an auto electrician and your issue is electronic. A professional grade scan tool computer can diagnose in 20 minutes. It is far better than guessing components, swapping them out and finding it doesn't fix the problem.

The first step to diagnose this type of problem would be to hook up a professional grade scan tool an check for diagnostic trouble codes.
==========================================
A professional grade scan tool computer can not only read codes, but is bi-directional so it can command transmission solenoids to operate and verify that they did. They can also record live data for analysis.
