when changing oil usually you change the oil filter and there is a drain plug for the oil to out...i don't know bout the reservoir your talking about,,
Is it full at present? If so, drain the oil and measure the volume.
If you are changing the oil it might a good idea to change the filter as well. Before you begin, run the engine for a few minutes to heat up and thin the oil so that it runs out easily.
I had a pressure washer that did the same thing, couldn't figure it out for the life of me.... took it into a repair shop and for 90 bucks I learned that a bad plug can work until it gets hot then die... If it was I .... I would change plugs make sure there are no restrictions in air... and then fuel lines... sounds like you are getting a residual fuel to fir up the machine and not enough or no fuel to keep it running....also check your oil level in case it is a low oil cut out... 1600ml is the Arctic Cat recommended amount BUT if you check the KYMCO manual (the '06 250 is a kymco made for AC) it says the capacity is 1600ml but when you change oil it is 1400ml. This might explain why my oil level always seems higher than it should be. You can check the level with the site glass on the side.
Also on the 250, you also have to change transmission fluid separately. It uses the gear oil NOT engine oil.
You most likely have a wet clutch. Do an oil change! Is it all murky and grey? You need to flush system thoroughly. Buy atleast 3 or 4 oil filters and grab some oil. Get it warm and change oil. Rinse and repeat 3 times. Take for short ride rinse and repeat till oil is clean. Most filters are washable so can be reused. Hope for the best. Mine has been swamped 4 times so far but runs like a champ. Either buy or make a snorkel kit and have fun
1st. change oil and filter.. use 10-40.. if that doesn't quiet them... .0025"-.003" on intake .004" - .005" exhaust should do it... if they are too tight,,it won't idle down fast or well.... or excessively tooo tight -won't start..too loose they rattle or if there is a lot of wear.. the rocker arms may need replacing
There is a Manuel shift shaft looks like bolt head on the left foot side towards the back were your heal sits try shifting to neutral there change your oil and only use Honda hp4 motor oil otherwise your electric shift solenoids get stuck and won't shift
If the oil is milky it has a bad and leaking seal somewhere that the gas is gitting in, or it has water in it. Water does not mix well with oil as you may know so I'd guess its gas is getting in. If it does run, change the oil right away then see if the oil develops the milky look again. Probably a seal would be my guess. Good luck.
