SOURCE: loosing power

Wow, I just went through the same problem and guess what it was a clogged converter and a bad oxyegen sensor. The garaged fixed it up for me by putting an eco converter on it and a new O2 sensor. I have a 2003 Chevy Impala,V6 3.8 engine. Good Luck!!!!

Check for blocked/low fuel flow. ie fuel filter or failing fuel pump.

SOURCE: it loses power on acceleration and serious loss of power on hills

sounds like a clogged fuel filter. you need to have the engine pressure checked for leaks, you can rent the pressure checker at autozone, it connects to ur radiator and u pump pressure into the cooling system if u find water leaking around the head u know u have a blown head gasket. if ok then check the cylinder compression should beable to rent this also. it screws into the spark plug holes has a gauge on it. alternator problem w/ the light is probaly you need to tighten the belt.hope this helps!!!

Why does my 2005 360 prairie idle fine when wet but bogs down when u push down on the throttle?

My brother had the same problem on his prairie 400. He was getting water in the electrical connector for his CDI unit. Unplug all of the electrical connectors one at a time and make sure they are dry. Apply dielectric grease to all the connections and plug them back in. I recommend doing this one at a time so you don't mix them up or forget where they go.

Kawasaki 650 Grand Prairie loss of power

It's hard to diagnose your problem , we need more info , , example , does your loss of power happen when going up hills , , low speeds , at full throttle, or in the midrange. I dont know the hours you have on it . Is there a lot of hours on the belt , is it fuel injected , or does it have a carburetor on it. Is your air filter clean , how long has it sat with the same gas in it . I can go on, and on, and guess all day , we need more info Bob. I look forward to your input in order to help with your issue.

360 prairie atv engine does not rev up

If you've rebuilt and adjusted the carbs to the correct spec, and the air fuel mixture is right, it would be worth checking the fuel filter if one is present, as well the fuel pump (again, if present). These are typically the first place to look when you idle fine but die out on throttle.

As for the belt light, it depends on what it indicates. Wear? Tension? If the belt slips, or is too tight or too loose, it could also cause stalling under throttle. With the engine off and cool, check it for cracks, splits and wear, and give it a light tug with two fingers. It should have a small amount of play, but not enough to feel like you could pull it off. If it feels like a steel rod, it may be over tight.

If all of these things are fine, no clogged filters, etc, it's maybe time to look at the distributor, and recheck those carbs.

I have a 98 kawasaki prairie 400. starts right up and runs great but it will only get up to about 30 mph and then it just wants to sputter and backfire if you try to push it any faster than that. at that...

Hey Frank,
This could be the issue, has this atv been sitting up for a length of time? ... I would put a new spark plug in first,, you may have water in the carb.....you can drain the float bowl and put in the new plug,,, see if that cures it, other wise get the carb professionally cleaned and set. Try this and reply to me.
